Halloween 2013

Halloween was fun this year!  We have been in Charlottesville for about 3 months and have made some good friends and enjoying all that this city has to offer.  Daddy and Grey carved the pumpkin we got from the pumpkin patch and Grey loved lighting it on the porch every night.  We also painted some pumpkins and made Halloween cupcakes for some neighbors and friends.  Holidays just keep getting more fun as Grey gets older and can kind of understand what is going on and I know once Evan is old enough to help decorate it will be even better!

Dress rehearsal for Halloween and Evan was not a fan of Grey's lion costume :)
Evan got a hand-me-down costume....look familiar?

Ethan and Grey kept checking themselves out in the mirror

"trick or treating" at Darden

Checking out his loot

"What you got there, brother?"

Sweet friends

They just never would look at the camera at the same time....we tried though.
Grey's first real trick-or-treating experience at our across the street neighbors house.

We practiced so much, but when the time came he wouldn't say "trick or treat" or "thank you".  We only made it to 3 houses before we headed home...maybe next year:)
He did get some candy out of the whole ordeal though.

Paint on the belly, cupcake on the face...full day and happy heart!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch with Darden .  Greys favorite part was the hay ride and petting the goats.

Grey 2 yrs. 2 months

Grey,
You are the most precious little boy on the planet and make your daddy and and me so happy! You make us laugh all the time, even when you are being bad sometimes.  Lately you have been so independent and want to do everything yourself.  I hear the phrase "no, grey do it" more times in a day than I hear anything else.  You are so smart and are so eager to learn.  You know some colors and shapes and try to sing your abcs and count.  You are potty trained except for naps and nighttime and usually want to try to go potty all by yourself too.  It is quite messy when you do it yourself though:)
You are learning different emotions and a lot of times if you don't know how to tell us you are mad or frustrated you will just throw your hands over your eyes.  You also do this a lot when I tell you "no".
We have gone to pick a lot of apples this fall at Carter Mountain here in Charlottesville.

Playing Frisbee with Ethan

Poor guy kept climbing on the couch after I told him not to and it resulted in a busted lip :(

throwing rocks into a creek after our nature class

We had to make a pit stop on our trip to Decatur.....

Playing in the corn kernels

Grey got to go to his first football game with Daddy and he LOVED it!!!

Apple picking...again

Family day at the park

Grey learned about pockets this day.  He was watching Daddy walk with his hands in his pockets and decided he wanted his hands in his pockets also.  Grey absolutely loves spending time with Daddy.  I am so happy he has such a wonderful role model.

I mean look how fun Daddy is!
